Some great features of this product include:

  • Detects IntelliTone digital signals on active networks and 500 to 1,200Hz analog signals on inactive networks to locate, trace, and isolate copper cabling
  • Identifies detected signals audibly and with eight LEDs that light successively as the signal strength increases for prompt isolation of a single cable within a bundle
  • Sync LED shows battery strength at power-up and confirms reception of IntelliTone signals
  • Available with a cable map function for validating RJ11 and RJ45 connectors by testing continuity and finding wiring faults on all four pairs of UTP and STP twisted pair cabling
  • Turns off automatically after one hour of inactivity

The Fluke Networks IntelliTone Pro probe detects IntelliTone digital signals, rejecting noise and false signals, to locate and trace data cabling on active networks. It detects 500 to 1,200 Hz analog signals to isolate individual wire pairs and trace voice, audio, and video cabling on inactive networks. The probe detects signals at cable racks, in patch panels, and even behind walls, and identifies detected signals audibly and with eight LEDs that light successively as the signal strength increases for prompt isolation of a single cable within a bundle. A sync LED shows battery strength at power-up and confirms reception of IntelliTone signals. The probe turns off automatically after one hour of inactivity. Tone probes are used by network technicians to troubleshoot and maintain wires and cable in telephone and data networks. The probe is available in Pro 100 and Pro 200 models. The Pro 200 probe has a cable map function that allows it to validate RJ11 and RJ45 connectors by testing continuity and finding short circuits, open circuits, and crossed-pair wiring faults on all four pairs of UTP and STP twisted pair cabling. RJ11 and RJ45 jacks plug into a port on the bottom of the probe.IntelliTone Pro 100 and 200 Probe SpecificationsDigital tone detectionIntelliTone signals from Fluke Networks devicesAnalog tone detection500 to 1,200Hz signals (includes SmartTone signals and signals from other analog tone generators)Cabling applicationsCopper cabling such as 75 or 50Ω coaxial cable including RG6, RG59, and others for CATV/CCTV; two-conductor control, security, and generic cable; Category 5e and Category 6 cable for 10 Base-T and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks; POTS telecom service and UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cable including Category 3 telephone cable; STP (shielded twisted pair) cableDisplay(8) LED signal strength indicators, (1) LED sync indicator (confirms reception of IntelliTone signal)AudioIntelliTone: microprocessor controlled audio filesAnalog: detected tone generator signalInterface (Pro 200 model only)Main Mod8 port for cable mapAgency certifications and standards metCE (European Conformity) marking; Australia N10140 C-Tick EMC standardPower source9V alkaline battery (included)Dimensions22.2 x 4.8 x 3.2cm/8.73 x 1.88 x 1.26 inches (H x W x D)Weight (with battery)133g/4.7oz.*H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Datacom and telecom installation and test devices, such as toners and test sets, check cabling and wiring to help ensure proper connections and operation. Tone generator and probe sets, also called toners, are used to locate, trace, and isolate cables in copper media networks. Telephone test sets, also called butt sets, are specialized telephones that connect to telephone lines to check for proper operation and to isolate trouble. Some test sets incorporate a TDR (time-domain reflectometer) and toner for determining cable length and locating faults. While certain devices may be used on live networks, others are only suitable for inactive networks. Field technicians and installers use these devices to set up, maintain, and troubleshoot datacom and telecom cabling within a building or in outside plant (OSP) applications.Fluke Networks, a division of Fluke Corporation, manufactures tools and software for network deployment, performance management, and troubleshooting.
